As per COMAR regulation 10.07.14.19 B (5): “Other staff” must receive initial and annual training in fire and life safety, infection control, basic food safety, emergency disaster plans. In addition, as per COMAR regulation 10.07.14.19 B (7): "Other staff" must have training or exerpeince in psychosocial needs of the elderly, resident assessment process, service plans, and resident’s rights. Lastly, as per COMAR regulation 10.07.14.19 H (1): when job duties involve the provision of personal care services as described in Regulation .30E, employees shall receive a minimum of six hours of training on cognitive impairment, mental illness, and behavioral health within the first 120 days of employment.
